Music lovers, get ready! Summer Songwriter’s Night is close approaching and is planned for June 7 at Peggy’s Field, 2759 Pulaski Highway in Columbia.
Artists performing will be Tony Arata and Mark D. Sanders, both members of the songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and Andy Childs (from television’s Nashville). Childs has opened with Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Clint Black, Trisha Yearwood, Tanya Tucker and Charlie Daniels Band and “puts on a hell of a show,” organizers said. Hits by Sanders, four-time CMA Triple Play award winner for writing three #1 songs in a 12 month period, include “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack and “Blue Clear Sky” by George Strait. For more information about these artists, visit the Summer Songwriter’s Night website.
A backstage pre-show party is planned at the pool house of Helen and James Fleming at 2735 Pulaski Highway from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
