Artists performing will be Tony Arata and Mark D. Sanders, both members of the songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and Andy Childs (from television’s Nashville). Childs has opened with Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Clint Black, Trisha Yearwood, Tanya Tucker and Charlie Daniels Band and “puts on a hell of a show,” organizers said. Arata is probably most noted for writing Academy of Country Music Song of the Year, “The Dance,” performed by Garth Brooks, but he has a long list of number one hits under his belt as well. Hits by Sanders, four-time CMA Triple Play award winner for writing three #1 songs in a 12 month period, include “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack and “Blue Clear Sky” by George Strait. For more information about these artists, visit the Summer Songwriter’s Night website.
