In Linden, TN on June 21st, classic cars will be on display downtown. The third annual Main Street Cruise-In will be held that Saturday from four to seven in the afternoon. According to Linden Mayor Jim Azbill, the event usually draws hundreds of people and “makes our downtown a summertime staple for entertainment.”
The event will showcase cars of all makes and models, and some made as early as the 1900s. Any person who owns a classic car of any age is invited to display their car at the Cruise-In with no exhibit fee. There is also no fee for entrance to this event, and everyone is encouraged to attend. “Linden’s undergone a makeover in recent years,” said Mayor Azbill, “It’s a perfect opportunity for everyone to see what we’re about.”
Door prizes will be given out at the event, and two special awards for the cars will be available as well. Mayor Azbill awards one prize for his favorite car, and the other prize is awarded to the favorite of visitors in attendance.
Local artists will perform live music after the showcase, and Linden businesses will be open later than usual in honor of the event. For more information about the Cruise-In, call David Richardson at 931-589-2455 or visit Linden’s website.
