Flash back to the doo wop era at STAAR Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 30, when Blend, the nation’s number one A cappella Doo Wop revue, takes the stage to help raise funds for the preservation of the historic Antoinette Hall Opera House.
“BLEND is the A cappella quartet that brings back all of those fun loving memories of the 50s and 60s with a twist of fun,” said Tammy Pierchoski, CEO of STAAR Theatre. “We are thrilled that they are performing at this fundraiser.’
Pierchoski said the show, which it appropriate for audiences of all ages, begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10, available on performance night at the door or in advance by calling 931-363-7222.
“What Blend is able to do in a 1.5 to 2 hour show will leave you with awe and amazement, wondering how
they accomplish this with only their voices,” Pierchoski said. “They incorporate and utilize tight harmonies and
drum sounds, along with precise choreography. It’s all there.”
Proceeds from the show will be used to help stabilize Antoinette Hall, the 1868 performance venue that is included in the National Register of Historic Places and has been named one of the 10 most endangered historic sites in Tennessee by the Tennessee Preservation Trust.
“Not only will Saturday night offer our guests a great mix of the music of yesteryear with today’s comedy, patrons have a chance to help save one of the few remaining 19th century opera houses in the country,” Pierchoski said.
STAAR Theatre at Antoinette Hall is located at 105 North First Street, Pulaski, Tennessee. For more information visit www.antoinettehall.com.
